Welcome to the Arseneau & Sohn Travel Website!!!
While this site is primarily about the Mürren, Switzerland area
We've branched out!!
In 2018 we Biked around Lake Constance and,
in 2022 we're going to Bike in the Loire Valley of France
Many of you know the Sohn's first trip to Switzerland was in 1980, when we fell in love with the Berner Oberland. After several return visits, in 2007 Sue and several hiking buddies headed to Switzerland for a hiking trip. After the "girls" went home, Loren joined her (& Masha) for another two weeks in a beautiful Murren chalet.
For the next trip we invited the Arseneau's to share a chalet in Murren, for 2 weeks in the summer of 2012. We couldn't rent the same chalet as in 2007, but we absolutely fell in love with the Chalet Alpenheim, it's owners (Hans & Heidi), the people, village, views, food, chocolate & hikes. Before leaving to come home, we reserved our apartment for 4 weeks, in the summer of 2015! Karen, Ross, Loren & Sue stayed in the beautiful village of Murren for 4 weeks during the summer of 2015. It was a family affair that included the wedding of Alyssa & Tom, and visits from Raya & Pat, and Dasha & Scott. Sue & Karen enjoyed a mini pre-trip visit of Paris before traveling to Murren. After Murren, Ross, Loren & Dasha enjoyed a few days in Chamonix before coming home. We returned for another two weeks in 2018. Prior to arriving in Murren, we spent a week cycling around Lake Konstanz, primarily in Germany, with our friends Fred & Karen Porter. We then exploring the Innertkirchen area of Switzerland for 4 days before traveling to Murren. At the end of that trip Sue & Loren spent a couple days in Paris, visiting some new and some old, favorites. Finally, we are planning another visit in 2022! We had originally planned to visit in 2020, but COVID made that impossible. COVID also made it unfeasible to travel there in 2021. But now, we're actively planning a return in the summer of 2022; looking forward to introducing our 3 Chica's to the joys of European travel. Prior to our arriving in Switzerland, we will spend a week biking in the Loire Valley, France and enjoy a few days in Paris. We originally built this website to give intrepid travelers who would join us in 2015, as much information as possible regarding specific travel information and a small taste of the beauty and fun we experienced in 2012. As you'll see, it's still a work in progress and is continually expanding. It is also serving as an information repository so I don't have to carry around so many travel books! As always, we're really excited about our upcoming vacation to the Europe and hope you'll find this website interesting, helpful and enticing! |
